Iona’s Song of the Week - No. 18

This week Jason Wilber provides Iona’s Song of the Week. He is a singer, guitar player, songwriter, and recording artist based in Bloomington, Indiana. He is well-known as the long-time lead guitar player for the late, great singer-songwriter John Prine, one of the most celebrated and revered songwriters in the English-speaking world. Wilber has performed on stages from the Grand Ole Opry to Austin City Limits and has collaborated with numerous legends including Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris, and Alison Krauss.

Iona’s choice of song comes from his 10th, and currently, second-to-last album called Reaction Time, released in 2017, and on this particular song, Jason is, joined by the incomparable Iris Dement.

Jason has also served as Co-Executive Producer on the compilation CD Coal Country Music, which features Willie Nelson, Gillian Welch, Ralph Stanley, Jason and the Scorchers, Kathy Mattea, Justin Townes Earle, Natalie Merchant, Diana Jones, Tom T. Hall, Bonnie Raitt, John Prine, Jean Ritchie, and other artists. These artists contributed their talents to benefit the Alliance for Appalachia's work to stop Mountain Top Removal in rural Appalachia!
